Artist's Description

I´ve seen photos of this exact street before, and when I actually visited New York City I knew I need to go and see it for myself. Was ordinary spring day in New York City, streets were busy as usually, except the lower part of the street. Standing there and watching what was going on the street I was amazed by that contrast, so busy on the further sections, but so calm and empty on this closer one. I prepared myself to take the shot when suddenly I noticed one man trying to cross that empty street. That was it, that missing element to make the scenery even better. So I waited for man to get in the middle of street and pressed shutter on my cellphone. Since I also have very personal story connected with this place this frame is one of my all time favorite photos.

About Peter Kolejak

Peter Kolejak

Born and raised under the mountains in northern Slovakia in the heart of Europe. I only discovered photography in late 2017, but it was in New Zealand in 2018 where I fell in love with it completely and it became my passion. After one year in New Zealand I moved to Canada where I spent 2 years in close vicinity of magnificent Rockies. Currently back home in Europe planning to extend my portfolio by beauties of local nature...
