Description
West Coast region of New Zealand is so different comparing to the rest of the country. Remote and wild, well known for its rain forests and unpredictable weather with strong storms, often accompanied by heavy rains and gales which can sometimes result in blockade of roads and inability to pass it if you are unlucky. One of many interesting things it has to offer are Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, interesting nature creation which took million of years to craft. Originally lying on seabed, layers of limestone mixed with mud, have been lifted to surface by tectonic activity only to be slowly sculptured afterwards by ocean, wind and rain. Slowly eroding as time goes by, yet so peaceful to watch and listen as water is finding its way through its lower sections also known as blowholes.
